Why do I need this?

Because NODE-BT valves only talk to a phone standing within Bluetooth range of them. If you’re hundreds of miles away — or your property is big enough that “walk over to the valve” is a hike — you have no way to run a valve, stop it, check on it, or see what it’s been doing. HappyPlant removes the radius: full control and complete watering history for every valve, from wherever you are.

What hardware does it work with?

Hunter NODE-BT battery-powered valves. If the Hunter phone app can talk to your valves over Bluetooth, HappyPlant’s bridges can too — from anywhere. A Hydrawise account adds scheduling on top, but it’s optional. Support for other systems isn’t there yet — tell us what you run in the early-access form and you’ll shape what comes next.

Do I need Hydrawise?

No. Without Hydrawise, HappyPlant is remote control and visibility for your NODE-BT valves: run and stop any valve on demand from anywhere, see live state, and keep the full watering history from the valves’ own logs. Connect a Hydrawise account and it becomes a complete system — your schedule executed, retried, and verified zone by zone. Most people want both; only the valves are required.

How do I find out when something goes wrong?

Your phone tells you. HappyPlant sends push alerts when a zone that should be watering isn’t, when a valve delivers less than it owed, when a bridge drops offline, or when a valve refuses its passcode — and each alert says what’s actually wrong and what to check, not just a red dot. Behind the alerts, the watering history keeps the receipts: scheduled vs delivered for every zone, every day, straight from the valves’ own logs.

Does it replace my irrigation controller?

No — it completes it. Hydrawise keeps the schedule; your wired zones keep running exactly as they do today. HappyPlant takes the zones on battery valves — the ones your controller can’t actually reach — and makes them first-class: dispatched, retried, verified, and alerted on.

What happens if my WiFi or the cloud goes down mid-watering?

Nothing floods, and nothing dries out silently. Every run is sent to the valve with a fixed duration the valve’s own timer enforces, even if everything else disappears mid-run. The worst failure mode is a zone finishing its scheduled watering and stopping — and once things reconnect, the watering history catches up on what happened while nobody was watching.

What does it cost, and when can I get it?

Honest answer: pricing isn’t set yet, and units are in early access. The early-access list is exactly how we’re deciding build volume — signing up costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and puts you first in line.

What do you do with my information?

The early-access form stores what you typed and nothing else. The site uses Google Analytics for aggregate page stats — no ad pixels, no selling lists. Email us and we’ll delete your entry, no questions asked. The short version lives on our privacy page.

What exactly is a bridge?

A small plug-in box (about the size of a deck of cards) that joins your WiFi and speaks Bluetooth to nearby valves. It installs like wiring: plug it in within radio range of the valves it should cover and it announces itself. Any bridge in range can carry a run, so extra bridges add coverage and resilience. They update their own firmware over WiFi.
